ABOUT JULIE
EXPERIENCE
Julie has worked across the public and private health sectors for over 30 years. She has worked with individuals and families, especially young adults, helping people navigate changes at different life stages and deal with the many mental health challenges that can manifest as people adjust to new circumstances. She is warm, engaging and professional.

THERAPUETIC APPROACH

Julie holds a Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Psychology (Hons) from the University of New England, and a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology (Hons) from the University of New South Wales.

She is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society College of Clinical Psychologists, and is a Clinical Psychology Medicare Provider.
Julie's original training was in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with post-graduate study in Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness=based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Julie now uses a Strength-based, Trauma-informed approach, built on scientific research. The Mind-Body Unity Framework is another model on which Julie draws extensively.​
​
Julie has 2 adult children, so has a good understanding of the complexities and delights of raising a family, and brings her lived experience of family life into her work.

Do I Need a Referral?
No referral is required, unless you plan to access Medicare rebates for sessions.

Can I Claim a Medicare rebate?
Julie is a registered Medicare Provider. Clients with a Mental Health Care Treatment Plan (MHCP) are eligible to claim the Medicare rebate for their consultations with Julie.
​
What is the cost?
Julie's fees are based on the Australian Psychological Society's National; Schedule of Recommended Fees. Julie aims to keep session costs below the APS recommendation.
